The oven includes a water drawer for steam functions, which needs to be filled with cold tap water (or still bottled water if water hardness level is 4). A food sensor (core temperature sensor) is provided to measure internal food temperature, ensuring optimal cooking results. The oven calculates an approximate end of cooking time based on food quantity, selected function, and temperature.

For first-time use, an initial cleaning and preheating of the empty oven are required. The user must also set the water hardness level, language, display brightness, key tones, buzzer volume, and time of day.

The "My AEG Kitchen" app can be downloaded to access more recipes, hints, and troubleshooting information, and enables remote operation of the oven.
