Cleaning, Disinfection & Sterilization of the Aerogen
Pro Nebulizer
The Aerogen Pro components are:
• Nebulizer (including filler cap)
• T-piece (including T-piece plug) for adult and pediatric
Manual Cleaning of Aerogen Pro & Accessories
1. Ensure there is no medication remaining in the device.
2. Remove nebulizer from T-piece. Remove filler cap from nebulizer.
3. Clean all parts with warm water and mild liquid detergent.
4. Rinse parts with sterile water.
5. Shake excess water from parts and allow parts to fully air dry.
Cleaning is recommended to be carried out between treatments on the
same patient.
Warning: Do not use abrasive or sharp tools to clean the nebulizer unit.
Disinfection of the Aerogen Pro & Accessories
Automated Washing Cycle
The Aerogen Pro nebulizer has been qualified for the following automated
washing cycles.
Note: The Aerogen Pro nebulizer should be cleaned in a separate cycle, as
opposed to being included with other devices.
Automated Cycle One
Detergent: Liquid alkaline cleaner (diluted as per manufacturers
instruction).
Water Quality: Mains water.
