Description
This test
sets the
4395A to
the p
ow
er
sw
eep
mo
de
and
then
mak
es
a
p
ow
er sw
eep from
0 50
dBm
to
0
30
dBm
and
0
5
dBm
to
15
dBm
in
5
dB
steps.
Using a
po
wer
meter and
a
high
sensitivit
y
p
ow
er sensor,
the actual
po
w
er
of
the
4395A
RF
OUT
signal
at
eac
h
sw
eep
p
oin
t
is measured.
Then
the
p
o
w
er
sw
eep
linearit
y
for
a
sw
eep
span

+20
dB is
calculated. The
p
o
w
er
linearit
y
is
sp
ecied
as
values
relative
to the
stop p
o
w
er.
This
test
uses
a
step
atten
uator
to
main
tain the
po
wer
sensor input
lev
el

0
35
dBm.
This
reduces the
measurement
uncertaint
y caused
b
y
the
p
o
w
er
sensor's
linearit
y
error.
The
actual
p
o
w
er
of
the
RF
OUT
signal
is
calculated
b
y
adding
the
atten
uation
used
and the
po
wer
meter
reading.

Procedure
1.
Connect

calibrate

sensor.

the
step

uator

equipmen
t.

protects
the

from excess
input.
