Troubleshooting PNA Series Microwave Network Analyzers

• The spectrum analyzer should measure a signal at 1 GHz.
5. If the measured signal is not present, replace A46 switch. Refer to “Removing and
Replacing the A45 and A46 Reference Channel Transfer Switches (Option 081)” on
page 7-70.
6. If the measured signal is present, reconnect W60.
7. From the
Channel menu, click Test Set. In the Test Set dialog box, click Internal: bypass R1
loop
. Click OK.
8. Remove semirigid cable W96 from A45 switch input.
9. Connect the spectrum analyzer to the W96 cable.
10.The spectrum analyzer should measure a signal at 1 GHz.
11. If the measured signal is not present replace, A46 switch. Refer to “Removing and
Replacing the A45 and A46 Reference Channel Transfer Switches (Option 081)” on
page 7-70.
12. If the measured signal is present then reconnect W96.
13. Remove W99 from the A45 switch output.
14. Connect the spectrum analyzer to the output of the A45 switch.
15. The spectrum analyzer should measure a signal at 1 GHz.
16. If the measured signal is not present replace A45 switch. Refer to “Removing and
Replacing the A45 and A46 Reference Channel Transfer Switches (Option 081)” on
page 7-70.
17. If the instrument passes all the tests to this point but you still have a problem with
your PNA, then refer to “Contacting Agilent” on page 2-13.
