Duplicate Run
Duplicate runs are performed exactly the same way as Dual runs except
the “Advance Vial for second injection” parameter is set to No. This will
cause the CP-8400/8410 to inject the contents of a single vial into both
injectors. Note that you may use any of the preprogrammed Sampling
modes in either the Dual or Duplicate modes.
Assigning Methods to Vial Ranges
If you examine the Automation table section of the CP-3800, you will
notice that you may associate methods with certain vial ranges. This is
called Method Sequence Automation. If your CP-3800 is in a laboratory
that performs a limited number of routine methods, you can preprogram
the methods and associate them with a specific vial range on your
CP-8400. Set the Automation mode to Method Sequence automation
and leave the CP-3800 in that state (the LED adjacent to Method
Sequence on the left side of the CP-3800 keyboard will be illuminated).
Next edit the Method Sequence automation table. You may set the same
method to different vial ranges if you wish but you may not have
overlapping vial ranges. Setting the Vial Detect parameter in the
Instrument Menu selection to off will cause the CP-8400 to skip any vial
locations that are empty. The CP-8410 works similarly except that the
AutoInjector sample tray does not rotate automatically. If a method is
associated with a vial range that is not under the arc traced by the tower,
the CP-8410 will treat those vials that are out-of-reach as missing. You
must manually move the tray and start automation after the tray is
relocated. Once a vial is encountered, the CP-3800 will activate the
method associated with the vial range in which the detected vial resides
and run the sample. This feature allows vial ranges to be assigned to
specific operators who may then simply place their samples into the
appropriate range and press the green Start button located in the upper
left corner of the CP-3800 keyboard.
