This
turntable
has
been
factory
adjusted
to
accommo-
date
the
Model
PC-85
cartridge,
but
any
Moving
Coil
(MC)
or
Moving
Magnet
(MM)
type
of
cartridge
can
be
used.
Adjustments
should
be
made
as
outlined
in
this
Manual.
5.
The
life
of
the
Stylus
is
much
shorter
than
that
of
the
turntable.
If
the
Stylus
becomes
worn,
bent,
or
otherwise
damaged,
it
will
damage
the
surface
of
the
record.
Re-
place
such
a
Stylus
immediately
and
avoid
playing
scratched
or
damaged
records.
6.
Always
avoid
touching
the
surface
of
the
record
with
the
fingers
as
this
will
leave
marks.
Clean
the
surface
of
the
record
with
Akai
Cleaning
Kit
CK-200.
Make
sure
that
the
surface
of
the
record
is
completely
dry
before
playing
it.
7.
Never
attempt
to
stop
the
Platter
from
rotating,
with
your
hands.
8.
Never
interfere
with
the
motion
of
the
Tone
Arm
during
Auto-Return.
Should
there
be
a
problem
with
your
machine,
write
down
the
model
and
the
serial
numbers
and
all
the
pertinent
data
regarding
warranty
coverage
as
well
as
a
clear
description
of
the
existing
trouble
and
contact
your
nearest
authorized
Akai
Service
Station
or
the
Service
Department
of
Akai
Elec-
tric
Co.,
Tokyo,
Japan.

4-CHANNEL
STEREO:
The
turntable
can
also
be
used
for
4-channel
stereo
operation.
For
SQ
or
Regular
Matrix
4-channel
operation,
the
unit
must
be
used
with
a
4-channel
cartridge
and
Stylus.
For
CD-4
System
4-channel,
replace
the
existing
cartridge
with
a
Stylus
for
CD-4
use.
This
is
all
that
is
needed
to
provide
CD-4
System
4-channel
operation.
After
accom-
plishing
this
change,
connect
the
turntable
to
a
4-
channel
adapter.
3.
The
turntable
uses
a
self-lubricating
DC
Servo
Motor;
no
additional
lubrication
is
necessary.
4.
The
Stylus
should
always
be
kept
clean
and
should
be
checked
prior
to
every
use.
The
Stylus
should
always
be
protected
by
its
guard
when
not
being
used.
Any
dust,
lint,
or
other
matter
adhering
to
it
can
damage
the
record
and
impair
the
quality
of
the
sound.
Always
clean
and
handle
the
Stylus
gently
without
knocking
or
jarring
it.
Use
a
soft
clean
brush
to
clean
the
Stylus.
