3.6 GROUNDING
CAUTION
The antennasupport pipe,antenna system, and the ODU box must be properly connected
and ground edwith regard todischarges of atmospheric energy.Always referto local valid
standardsandregulations.

.AlsotheODUboxandtheantennasystemmustbegrounded,best
byacopperropewith the cross section of at least14mm

thatisendedbyacableeyelet. The brass bolt
M8 with the grounding rope eyelet isscrewed into the marked hole atthe bottom of ODU that is placed
undertheconnectioncablegrommet.
The antenna system grounding points of AL1‐80/APR a AL2‐80/APR antennas are common with
those of
ODU.
Thiswhole equipmentshouldbe, if possible,located in thespace that is protectedby lightningtraps
against direct lightning strike. If this cannot be guaranteed even through installation of additional traps,
then other corresponding modifications must be performed according to the EN 62305‐4 (Protection
againstlightning)
standardandafterconsultationwithaprofessional.
TheprotectedterminalboxALS1xinabuildingisgroundedbyacopperropewiththecrosssectionof
atleast5mm

withcableeyelets.ThiscableshouldbeconnectedtothemarkedM4pinonthefrontsideof
ALS1x.
