3.1 STATIONINSTALLATION

3.2 EVALUATIONOFSUITABLEPLACEMENT
Forinstallationandproperoperationoftheradiolinkthefollowingmustbeprovided:

Guaranteeddirect visibility isnotalwayssufficient guarantee
of a quality connection.A condition for
atroublefreepropagationofelectromagneticwavesisapureradiovisibility.Iffixedobjects,liketreetops,
mountains or buildings are toocloseto the signalroute,they candistortor attenuatearadio signal.This
occurs even in cases when these
obstructions do not prevent direct visibility. This phenomenon can be
explainedbytheradiobeamFresnelzone–anellipticalareathatimmedia tely surroundsthedirectvisibility
axis(thelinebetweenlinkantennas).Sizeofthiszonevariesdependingonthehoplengthandradiosignal
frequency. The Fresnel zonemust
be calculated before design of the wirelesslink and it must beverified
thatitwillnotbedisturbedbyanyobstacles.
