TheradiorelaystationZENITH80consistsofthreemainparts:
1. Theoutdoormicrowaveunit(ODU)thatisintegralwiththeantennacontains:
o TheRFblockthatincludesthemicrowavetransmitter,receiver,andfilters.RegardingtoTx
frequencyODUsaremadeintwoversions:
Aforhigherfrequency
range
Bforlowerfrequencyrange
Respectiveunitsmakeupduplexpair,e.g.A‐B.
o Thedatablockthatincludes1Ethernet1000switch,amodemandthemonitoringsystem
supervisedbyacontroller.ThepowersupplyblockconsistsofDC‐DCconvertors.
2. Theantennasystemwiththe
parabolicantenna,thefeedelementandthepoleattachment.
3. Considering placement of the data block in ODU, the station ZENITH 80 has an indoor unit
reduced to the protected terminal box ALS1‐GEth (RP) or ALS1‐2GEth (RP) that ensures
transmission of customer data, powering of the station, and protection
against the
atmospheric origin overvoltage and overcurrent. (The protected terminal box is marked as
ALS1xinthefurthertext.)
ODU can be connect ed to the microwave parabolic antennas of the types ALCOMA AL1‐80/APR
(Ø0,35m)AL2 ‐80/APR(Ø0,65m).Theseantennasarestandardequippedbyicingprotection
(radome)for
use in demanding climatic conditions. The simply removable ODU is integrated with the antenna system
intoonecompactwhole.
Interconnection between the protected terminal box and ODU is done by a double shielded outside
cable(S‐STPCat7)with4 pairsofconductorswiththe100Ω
impedance.IncaseofusingtwometallicGEth
interfaces two interconnecting cables must be used. The LINE3 link cable transmits customer data and
poweringforODU.ODUmonitoringsignalsmaybetransmittedbyeitherLINE3orLINE2linkcable.
OpticalinterconnectingcablemustbechosenaccordingtousedSFPmoduletype.
Itisrecommended
touseopticaloutsidecable.SFPmoduleusedinODUmaybeeither1000Base‐LXSinglemode(1310nm)or
1000Base‐SXmultimode (850nm).Disassembled optical connector isa standard accessoryofSFP module
equipped ODU. Customer may optionally order complete connectorized interconnection optical cable of
appropriate
length.
CAUTION
SFPmodulemaybeinstalledonlytoODUsequippedwithopticalcableconnector.
