Here, particularly consider the information under point 6
"General information about GPS reception".
In optimum conditions, the search for satellites takes approx. 1
minute from a cold start, and approx. 10 seconds from a warm
start.
A cold start is when the Ski watch is being used for the first
time, has not been used for a long time, or has been moved
over a long distance since the last position determination (e.g.
300 km). Now the Ski watch does not know which satellite
constellation to expect, and must obtain the data again.
After that there is only the warm start, and in an optimum
case this takes approx. 10 seconds. A warm start can work, if
the Ski watch has not covered a large distance since the last
position determination, and not too much time has gone by.
The more satellites that have moved out of the sight of the Ski
watch since the last position determination, the longer the
search for satellites will take.
It is important for fast GPS reception, that the watch is lying
still and is not in motion.
Tip: Even before you start your running training and/or your
journey, place your Ski watch in an open space with a clear
view of the sky (e.g. on the window sill or the car roof) and
start the search for satellites.
