Current/Voltage Analog Output Module Features (5069-OF4, 5069-OF8) Chapter 5
Short Circuit Protection
Short Circuit Protection prevents damage that can result from driving a current
from the channel greater than the maximum current level the channel can handle.
When a short circuit condition is detected, the following occurs:
• The output turns off.
• The I.Chxx.ShortCircuit tag is set to 1.
For more information on using module tags, see Appendix B,
Module Tag
Definitions on page 133.
For more information on the maximum current that you can apply to an output,
see the 5069 Compact I/O Modules Specifications Technical Data,
publication
5069-TD001.
Over Temperature Detection
The Over Temperature Detection feature indicates that the temperature of the
conditions within which the module is operating are higher than the module
operating limits.
When an Over Temperature condition exists, the I.Chxx.OverTemperature tag is
set to 1.
IMPORTANT
This feature is available only in Voltage (V) mode.
