5.8.2.2ELECTRONICFLUIDLEVELCHECKPROCEDURE
NOTE:TheTCMdelaystheuidlevelcheckuntilthefollowing
conditionsaremet:
Theuidtemperatureisabove40°C(104°F)orbelow104°C
(220°F).
ThetransmissionisinN(Neutral).
Thevehiclehasbeenstationaryforapproximatelytwominutes
toallowtheuidtosettle.
Theengineisatidle.
WhenuidlevelcheckisdelayedbytheTCM,acountdown
timerinminutesandsecondsappearsintheselectorgraphics
display.
TheOLSisdesignedtomeasuretransmissionuidlevel.Tochecktheuid
levelelectronicallyfromtheshiftselector,dothefollowing:
1.ParkthevehicleonalevelsurfaceandshifttoN(Neutral).
2.Applytheparkingbrakeandallowtheenginetoidle(500–800rpm).
3.Makesurevehicleisstoppedwithtransmissionoutputshaftspeedat
0rpm.
4.Allowasettlingperiodoftwominutestofacilitateoildrainbacktime.
TheTCMcommunicatesstatusonceuidlevelrequestisinitiated.
5.Fluidlevelmeasurementandreadoutmaybeinitiatedbypressing
onceon:
Bump-ShiftLeverselector—presstheDISPLAY
MODE/DIAGNOSTIC(DMD)buttononce.RefertoFigure4–1.
KeypadPushbuttonshiftselector—simultaneouslypressthe
(Upshift)and(Downshift)arrowsonce.RefertoFigure4–1.
6.CorrectuidlevelisdisplayedasshowninFigure5–2.
