Precautions
Charging a battery
A CAUTION! Do
not
charge a frozen battery.
Battery gas can explode.
Keep cigarettes, sparks and flames away from the
battery.
Remove cell caps before recharging.
1. Remove and clean battery. (See CHECKING
&
CLEANING BATTERY in this section.)
2. Check the electrolyte level. (See CHECKING
BATTERY ELECTROLYTE LEVEL.)

you
connect or disconnect charger
..
cables to battery, unplug the charger cord.
3. Connect the positive(+) charge cable
to
positive(+)
battery cable.
4.
Connect the negative (-) charge cable
to
the
negative (-) battery cable.
5.
Plug in the charger cord.
6.
If
battery needs complete charging, charge at 3 amps
constantly for 6
to
12
hours or 5 amps for 3
to
16
hours
using an automatic charger.
7.
Unplug the charger cord. Remove the charger cables.
8. Install the battery.
Using a booster battery
CAUTION! battery gas is explosive.

A -DO NOT smoke while you charge battery.
- Keep all sparks and flames away.
- DO NOT charge a frozen battery.
- DO NOT connect booster battery (-) cable to starting
vehicle (-) terminal.
Connect cables in the order shown. Connect booster
negative (-) cable
to
engine ground away from battery
last.
