Operation & adjustment
of
clutch/brake pedal
Clutch &
brake
pedal
A single pedal operates the rear wheel braking
system and drive disengagement mechanism
(clutch).
Adjustment
of
drive disengagement mechanism (clutch)
Drive disengagement
mechanism adjustment
Ground motion drive is disconnected when the
clutch/brake pedal is depressed to the first stage,
taking tension from the primary drive belt.
Correct adjustment
of
this is important. Too little
tension can cause engine starting problems, too
much tension can cause belt slippage to the
transmission.
Correct adjustment is obtained when there is a 3
millimetre clearance between the lever and 8
millimetre Nyloc nut.
Braking
of
rear wheels results when clutch and
brake pedal is further depressed to the 2nd stage.
