6.4.8 Inner Axle Bearing Lubrication
Theinneraxle angesareequippedwitha greasetting
(Figure 6-13). Lubricate the bearings with a small amount of a
lithium based, NLGI #2 or 3 mineral oil based grease, (such as
Shell Alvania #3). Apply every 50 hours or before the vehicle
is taken out of service for any extended period. Dirt, dust and
exposure to water will accelerate this servicing to less than
50 hour intervals. Only a small amount of grease is required.
