  The Atag Dishwasher may not start because the Start/Stop start button has been pressed for too short a time. Press and hold Start/Stop until the display shows "Program started, close door". Ensure that the door is properly closed and that the door lock has clicked into place and locked. Also, a fuse/circuit breaker may have been tripped, the plug may not be plugged into the wall socket, or the water tap may be turned off. Check these items. There may be overflow/leaks. Check for these issues. If a whirring sound (the drainage pump) is heard from the dishwasher and does not stop when the main power switch is turned off, turn off the water tap, pull out the plug and call the service department. If you want to cancel the Delayed Start option, press and hold Start/Stop for three seconds.

  The dishes may not be clean because the spray arms are blocked by the dishes. Ensure that the dishes are not blocking the spray arms. Also, the spray arm holes or bearings may be blocked. Clean the spray arms. An unsuitable dishwashing program, incorrect detergent dosage, or old detergent may also cause this problem. Select a program with Intensive mode, dose according to water hardness, and avoid large packages of detergent. Make sure that you do not cover porcelain with large bowls or place very tall glasses in the corners of the baskets and place dishes to sit steady. Check that the filter handle is locked in the stop position and that the coloured stop on the right in the bottom drain is in place.

  The dishes may not be dry enough because the Auto Open option is not activated. Activate the Auto Open option. Also, the dishwasher may not be fully loaded. Fully load the dishwasher. The rinse aid may need topping up or the dosage may be set too low. Top up with rinse aid or increase the rinse aid dosage level. If the setting TAB is activated and all-in-one detergent with insufficient drying effect is being used, switch all-in-one detergents or deactivate the setting TAB and top up with salt and separate rinse aid.

  If water remains in the Atag dishwasher, the filters may be blocked. Clean the coarse and fine filters. The filters may also not be fitted correctly. Check that the filter handle is locked in the stop position. Debris in the drainage pump, a missing drainage pump stop, a kink in the drainage hose, or a blocked drainage hose can also cause this issue. Clean the drainage pump, check that the coloured stop on the right in the bottom drain is in place, check that the hose is free from kinks and sharp bends, and disconnect the drainage hose where it connects to the sink unit's water trap to check for blockages.

  Spots on stainless steel or silver in the Atag Dishwasher can be caused by some foodstuffs, such as mustard, mayonnaise, lemon, vinegar, salt and dressings, if left for too long. Rinse off these types of foodstuffs if not starting the dishwasher immediately. Use the Rinse and hold program. All stainless steel can cause spots on silver if they come into contact during dishwashing. Aluminium can also cause spots on dishes. In order to avoid marks and tarnishing, separate dishes made from different metals, such as silver, stainless steel and aluminium.
