RUN
(RU.)
The RUN statement
is
used
to
execute
the
program
that
is
currently
in the
computer's
memory
. A RUN statement
is
also
used to load and execute a
program
from
an
input
device.
CONFIGURATION
RUN
["device:filespec"]
A RUN statement closes the I/ O channels and turns
off
the
sound voices
before
executing
or
loading
the
program
.
When a RUN statement
is
used
with
an
input
device,
the
contents
of
the
computer's
memory
are erased
before
the
program
is
loaded.
Only
BASIC programs
that
were
recorded
with
the
SAVE
statement can be loaded and
executed
with
a RUN
statement.
The
Program Recorder
is
activated
with
a RUN
"C:"
statement.
The
tone
sounds
once
to
remind
the
operator
to
position
the
tape and press the
Play
lever
on
the Program Recorder
followed
by Return
on
the
computer
's keyboard.
A RUN statement can
load and execute a
program
from
a disk
file
if
the disk
operating
system
has
been
booted
.
An
error
results
if
the specified fi

exist.
