Winchester Disk Drives
Winchester disk drives are designed
so
that
from
6
to
10 times
more
data can be stored on
their
surface than on a standard
floppy
diskette. Winchester disks must be
kept
very clean
as
they
are
extremely
vulnerable
to
dust,
dirt,
and smoke.
Since
they

so
clean, Winchester disks must be
sealed inside
of
the disk drive. This means that Winchester disks
cannot
be changed.
Since Winchester disks
cannot
be removed,
floppy
