3 Zone deluxe automatic climate
control
Description
The air conditioner is fully automatic and is designed to
maintain a comf ortable and uniform climate inside the
vehicle.
We recomme nd t he f ollowing settings:
- Set t he temperature to 75 °F (+23 °C).
- Press the !AUTO ] button .
With this setting, you attain maximum comfort in the least amount
of time . Change this setting, as desired, to meet your personal
needs .
The cl imate controls are a combination of heating, venti lation and
cooling systems , which automatica lly reduce humidity and coo l the
air inside your vehic le.
The climate control automat icall y maintains a temperature once it
has been set. The temperature of the air from the vents , fan speed
(air volume) and air distribution are also automa t ica lly adjusted . The
system also takes into account strong sunshine so that manual
adjustment is not necessary. So in almost all cases,
automatic mode
offers the best conditions for the comfort of the occupants at all
t imes of the year ~

Please note the fol lowing:
Turn on the air condi tioner to reduce humidi ty in the vehic le. This
also prevents the windows from fogg ing up .
When the outside temperature is high and the air is very humid ,
condensat ion from the evaporator may drip under the vehicle . This
is normal and does not indicate a leak.
If the outside temperature is low, the fan normally only swi tches to
a higher speed once the engine coola nt has warmed up sufficiently .
The air conditioner temporarily sw itches off when you drive off from
a standstill using fu ll throttle to save engine power.
The comp ressor also swi tches off if the coolant temperature is to o
high, so that the engin e can be adequate ly cooled under extreme
loads .
Dust a nd poll e n filt er
The dust and pollen fi lter (a combined particle fi lter and act ivated
charcoa l filter) reduc es or prevents outside air pol lution (dust, or
pol len) from ent er ing the vehic le.
The dust and pollen filter must be changed at the intervals specified
in your Maintenance booklet, so that the air conditioner can prop -
erly work.
If you drive your vehicle in an area with a high degree of air pollu -
t ion, the filter may need to be changed more frequently than speci -
fied in your Audi Warran ty
& Main t enance book let. If in doubt, ask
you r authorized Audi Service Advisor for advice.
