Carbon-fiber parts
Applies to vehicles: with carbon-fiber parts
The carbon-fiber parts of your vehicle have a
pa inted surface . They do not require special
care and are cleaned like other pa inted parts

Touch-up paint
-
Your author ized Audi dealer has touch-up
paint for minor scratches and stone chips . Mi-
nor paint damages such as scratches or stone
chips should be touched up immediately to
prevent corrosion.
The number for the origina l vehicle paint can
be found on the vehicle ident ification labe l
¢ page 213.
Howeve r, if corrosion has formed, you mus t
have this thoroughly removed by you author-
ized Audi dealer or other qualified workshop .

Windows
Clear vision improves traffic safety .
In order t o main t ain t he pe rformance of t he
windshie ld w iper b lades, never clean the win-
dow g lass with insect remover or wax.
Rubbe r, oil, grease, or silicone res idue can be
removed using a
glass cleaner or a silicone re-
mover.
Wax res idu e, however, can o nly be re-
moved using a specia l cleaner. You can obtain
mo re information from your authorized Audi
dea ler.
You should a lso clean the inside of the win-
dow glass at regular interva ls.
The cloth or chamois used on pai nt surfaces
conta ins wax residue. Use a separate cloth or
chamois to dry the window glass .
_& WARNING
- The windsh ield must not be treated with
water-repellent materials. They can in-
crease glare under poor vis ibility condi-
tions such as wetness, darkness, or when
the sun is low on the hor izon. In addi-
tion, they can cause the windshield wip-
ers to chatter.

- Never use warm or hot water to remove
snow and ice from windows and mirro rs.
This could cause the glass to crack .
- To prevent damage to the wires of the
rear defogger, do not place any adhesive
st ickers on the ins ide of the rear window
over th e wires .
- To help prevent dirt from scratching the
window, always scrape in a forwa rd di-
rec t ion - pushing the sc raper away from
you - never back and fort h.
· Wheels
Regular care is requ ired to preserve t he deco -
rat ive appearance of the whee ls. Road salt
and brake dust must be washed off regularly
or the wheels will be damaged.
Use only spec ia l acid-free clean ing agents . You
can find proper wheel cleane r at authorized
Audi dealers and specia lty stores . Do not leave
the cleaner on the whee ls longer than speci-
fied. Wheel cleaners containing acid can dam-
age the surface of the wheel bo lts.
Paint polish or othe r abrasive materials must
not be used when caring for wheels. If the
protective coat ing has been damaged, from
stones for example, touch up the damage as
soon as possible.
