head- and t ailli ght cont rol is activ ated. Light
sensors are locat ed in t he inside mirro r hous-
ing and constantly check t he light cond itions
surroundi ng the vehicle. If ambient bright-
ness fa ll s below a factory set value (e.g. when
driv ing into a tu nnel), the head- and taill ights
including the license plat e illuminati on are
automat ically t urned on . When ambient
brightness increases again, the exte rnal light s
are turned off again
q &.. In the switch posi-
t ion
AUTO, the low beams are t ur ned off when
the igniti on is switc hed off . The remaining
light s are t urned off when the key is ta ken out
of the ignition lock.
Wit h automatic head- and taill ight cont rol,
the high-beam fun ction is also available , but
with one rest rict ion: If you have not switched
the high beams back to low beams during au-

beams come on the next time automatic
headlights are switched on. To use the high
beams, yo u fi rst have to pull the high beam
lever back and then push the lever forwa rd
agam .
The side marker lights and headlights can be
switched on manually by turn ing the light
swit ch to the desired position .

reasons, the low beams are tu rned on perma-

can cont inue to tu rn t he lights on and off us-
