• Push the lever up as far as it can go to turn
on the right turn signal or down to turn on
the left turn signa l

• Move the lever briefly until you meet resist-
ance and release it to flash three t imes.
• Move the lever (up or down) unt il you meet
resistance and hold it there to determine
the flash ing time for the turn signals .
High beam ~D@
• Push the lever forward to switch on the high
beam.
• Pull the lever back towards you to switch off
t he high beam.
Headlight fla sher ~D ©
• Pull the lever toward the stee ring wheel to
use the head light flasher.
Notes on these features
- The turn signals only work with the ignit ion
switched on. The indicator lights

the instrument cluster c::>page 11 also blink.
- After you have turned a corner, the tur n sig-
nal switches off automat ically.
- The
high beam works only when the head-
lights are on. The indicato r light
II in t he
inst rument cluster illuminates when the
high beams are on.
- The
headlight flasher works only as long as
you hold the lever - even if there are no
lights turned on. The indicator light II in
the instrument cluster illuminates when you
use the head light flasher.
A WARNING
Do not use the high beam or headlight
flasher if you know t hat these could blind
oncoming traffic.

Emergency flasher

• Press the switch l1J c::> fig. 34 to switch the
emergency flasher on or off.
When the emergency flasher is on, all four
turn signals blink at the same time. The turn
signal indicator lights
1111 in the instrument
cluster, as well as the light in the emergency
flasher switch ~ blink likewise . The eme rgen-
cy flashe rs also work when the ignition is
tu rned off.
The emergency flasher will automatically
switch on if you are in an accident where the
airbag has deployed .
(D Tips
You should switch on the emerge ncy flash-
er when:
- you are the last vehicle standing in a t raf-
fic jam so that any other vehicles coming
can see you, or when
- your vehicle has broken down or you are
in an emergency situation, or when
- your vehicle is being towed by a tow
truck or if you are tow ing another vehicle
beh ind you.
