– Turn each locking element by hand to correct position so that
groove on locking element is visible.
– Engage hook - T40207- in hole on locking element from below
and pull it off piston rod in direction of -arrow-. Repeat proce‐
dure with remaining locking elements.
– Turn locking element by hand to correct position so that groove
on locking element is visible.
– Engage hook - T40207- in hole on locking element from below
and pull it off piston rod in direction of -arrow-.
– When all locking elements have been removed from vehicle:
Remove tag on interior mirror.
Note
♦ Take care not to damage the boot or the surface coating on
the spring.
♦ There are several versions of the locking elements for the front
axle ⇒ page 33 .
3.24.3 Suspension struts on rear axle: locking
elements (version 1)
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Hook - T40207- , wrap metal rod with insulating tape to ensure
that it does not have any burrs or sharp edges.
Requirements:
• Vehicle suspension extended
Procedure:
– Push boot downwards.
