2. Donotinstallcomponentsinsidetheenginecompartmentorexposethemtowater,excessivehumidity,dustordirt.
3. Neverruncablesoutsidethevehicleorinstalltheampliernexttomechanicalorelectronicdevices.
4. OperatetheAP1Donlywheninternaltemperatureisbetween0°C(32°F)and55°C(131°F).TheAP1Dmusthaveaminimum3cm(1.5”)distancefromanystructure.
Theremustbegoodaircirculationaroundthechassis.
5. Makesurethelocationyouchoseforthecomponentdoesnotaffectthecorrectfunctioningofthevehicle’smechanicalandelectricaldevices.
6. Makesurethepowercabledoesnotshortcircuitduringinstallationandconnection.
7. Useextremecautionwhencuttingordrillingthecarchassis,checkingthatthereisnoelectricalwiringorstructuralelementsunderneath.
8. Userubbergrommetstoprotectthewirewhenrunningthroughholesinmetalandusepropermaterialsifclosetoheat-generatingdevices.
9. Makesureallthecablesareproperlysecuredalongtheirentirelength.Also,makesuretheirouterprotectivejacketisflameresistantandselfextinguishing.Secure
theconnectedcablesclosetotheterminalblockswithwiretiesorclamps.
10.Pre-planthecongurationofyournewAP1Dandthebestwiringroutestoeaseinstallation.Usehighqualitycables,connectorsandaccessories,asyouwillndin
theAudisoncatalogue.
HOW TO CONNECT THE AP1 D
ThefollowinggraphicsrepresentthemainstepsfortheAP1Dconnections.Itsuniversalityandversatilityofferendlesspossibilitiesandcongurations.Specicstepsor

tothefollowingpagesofthismanual
1. BeforeinstallingtheAP1D,turnoffthesourceandallotherelectronicdevicesintheaudiosystemtopreventanypossibledamage.
2. Runaspecicallydesignedpowercablewithproperdiameter(8AWG,Ø3.2mm/0.128’)fromtheAP1Dbattery.
3. Connectthepowercablesobservingcorrectpolarity.Connectthe(-)terminaltothecarchassisrst,thenconnectthe(+)terminaltothecablecomingfromthebattery.
Tocorrectlygroundtheproduct(-GROUND)useaxingpointinthevehiclechassis;removeallpaintorgreasefromthemetalifnecessary,checkingwithavoltmeter
thatthereiscontinuitybetweenthebatterynegativeterminal(-)andthechosenxingpoint.Thepowerconnectoracceptsan8AWG(Ø3.2mm/0.128’)15mm/0.6’
peel-offcable.Ifpossible,connectallcomponentstothesamegroundpoint;thissolutionrejectsmostundesirednoisewhichcanbegeneratedduringtheaudioreproduction.
4. Putaninsulatedfuseholdermaximum20cmfarfromthebatterypositiveterminal;connectoneendofthepowercabletoitafterconnectingitsotherendtotheamplier.
5. TURNON:theAP8.9bitcanbeturnedonthrough:
-RemoteIn,byconnectingtheterminaltotheRemOutofanAfterMarketheadunitorfromtherelaunchwiringofanamplierfromthePrimalineAP8.9bit/AP4.9bit.
Thelogoonthetopsideoftheheatsinklightsblue,indicatingthattheproductison.AflashingoftheREDlogoeverysecondindicatestheactivationofthethermal
protection2flashesoftheREDlogoeverysecondindicatean“OVERLOAD”/Faultinthewiringofthespeakers,4flashesoftheREDlogoeverysecondindicate
theactivationofthe“OVERVOLTAGE”protectioncausedbyabatteryvoltagehigherthan16V,theREDlogoturningonindicatesaninternalfailureoftheproduct,
pleasecontacttheauthorizedcustomerservicecenter.
6. SPKIN:HILEVELmonophonicanaloginput.UsethemultipointconnectorprovidedtoconnecttoanampliedsourceoranamplierfromthePrimalineAP4.9bit.

8. SPEAKEROUT:powerterminal+and-ofthemonophonicoutput.Theavailablepowerattheoutputis280Wx1@4ohmand520Wx1@2ohm.
9. FUSE:toreplacethefuse,removeitfromitsholderlocatednearthepowersupplyterminalblockandreplaceitwithanotherfuseofequalvalue(30A).
10. INSTALLATION:Allcomponentsmustbesolidlyxedtothevehiclestructure.Dothesamewheninstallinganyadditionalcustomstructuresyoumayhavebuilt.Make
surethatyourinstallationissolidandsafe.Acomponentcomingloosewhiledrivingmaycauseseriousdamagetothepassengers,aswellastoothervehicles.
Whentheinstallationiscomplete,checkthesystemwiringandverifyallconnectionswereperformedcorrectly.
