CAMPSITE ETIQUETTE
Campsite arrival
Park as close to the reception area
as possible and report your arrival.
Do not drive to a pitch unless
directed by reception sta.
Driving on a campsite
Always keep to the site roads,
unless directed otherwise. Obey
the site speed limits which are
generally 10mph. You must have
a current, valid driving licence to
drive a vehicle on site roads. Park
where directed on your pitch.
Where possible, you should leave
approximately 6m (20ft) around
your vehicle.
Please note: Stopping distances
on grass are greater than on a
normal road.
Site appliances
Connect all mains hook-ups
correctly and carefully.
Turn o all fresh water taps
completely after use.
Use facilities such as toilets
and showers with care and
consideration, leaving them in
a tidy condition.
Young children should be
escorted and supervised.
Waste disposal
If your vehicle is not fitted
with a waste water tank, place
a suitable container under all
waste water outlets. Do not
allow these to overflow.
Make sure you empty the
containers at appropriate
waste water points.
Empty chemical toilets only
where directed.
Avoid damage to sewerage
treatment works by using only
approved chemicals. Phenols,
coal tar or caustic based fluids
must never be used under any
circumstances.
Solid bulky items such as
disposable nappies etc. must
not be put into the chemical
closet emptying point or site
rubbish bins. Wrap them in
a polythene bag and place in
designated containers.
Household rubbish should be put
into the rubbish collection bins.
Noise pollution
Please show consideration by
thinking how the noise you create
will aect those around you.
Open and close doors quietly.
Try to control excessive noise
made by your children.
Flying kites, model aircraft,
drones and the use of catapults
or air guns should not be
allowed close to other vehicles.
Do not play loud, boisterous
ball games.
Keep volume turned down on
music devices and televisions,
and do not play musical
instruments at volumes that
could upset your neighbours.
If you have a power generator,
make sure it is adequately silenced
and use it with consideration,
especially after dark.
Tents and awnings
It is polite to ask permission before
erecting a tent or awning. If the
stay is longer than a day or two, the
groundsheet and/or side flaps of
the awning should be lifted to avoid
patches or damage to the grass.
