As our coastlines are increasingly used for
recreation and education, the following
suggestions are made to enable us to
enjoy our inheritance and preserve it
for posterity.

DONOTspilldetergents,solventsorfuelfrom
boats as these can kill marine life.
Live molluscs and crustaceans need not be
collected as souvenirs - dead shells can usually
be found.
Shellfish can take years to grow and fines
can be imposed for not observing national
regulations.
DONOTpullupseaweedsunnecessarily.
Make your visit instructive - not destructive.
Look at material - don’t remove it. Take notes
and photographs, not specimens.
Observe by-laws and be considerate to others.
