Multipoint H.265 Meetings in XT7000 Series
This version allows an XT7000 Series endpoint to host H.265 meetings (multiple calls with up to 8
remote participants, using H.265 for live video, TX and Rx, when supported by the remote party).
Mixed H.265 SIP/H.323 calls in the same meeting are supported. This is a unique feature of Avaya
XT7000 Series embedded MCU.
This greatly reduces the network bandwidth required to host the meeting, maintaining an exceptional
video quality experience for all the participants supporting H.265 video coding.
Note
Please verify if your XT7000 Series endpoint requires a license to support multipoint
calls, up to 8 remote participants.
Enhanced Lecturer Mode when Hosting a
Meeting
In this release, the XT hosting a MCU Meeting is able to work in “lecturer mode”, sending to the
remote parties the local participant video as the lecturer, while the lecturer can see the Continuous
Presence of other participants (the lecturer is excluded from the CP composition).
This behavior is active by default and corresponds to the Default Lecturer Layout = "1 terminal".
To change Default Lecturer Layout option, browse to
[GUI] CONFIGURE >ADVANCED>CALLS>PREFERENCES>MCU
[WEB] ADMINISTRATOR SETTINGS> CALLS>PREFERENCES>MCU
Important
Only the local participant of the XT hosting the meeting can see the CP composition,
when he/she is the lecturer. Other lecturers will see their own image.
Figure 4: Default Lecturer Layout - 1 terminal
The XT can also be configured to send to everyone, including the lecturer, the lecturer video (big)
and the video of the previous/active speaker (small), by selecting the layout "2 terminals - A"
In this case also the local participant hosting the meeting will see this layout, and not the CP
composition, when he/she is the lecturer.
