Recommendeduseofbitratereduction
Zipstreamoffersanumberofbitratereductionpresets,fromLowtoExtreme.Lowbitratereductionisenabledbydefaultandis
safetouseinallapplicationswhilestillreducingthebitrate.
WerecommendusingtheExtremebitratereductiontomaximizestoragetimeforcloud-connectedcamerasorcamerasusingedge
storage.Thissettingissuitabletocombinewithmotiondetectiontriggeringandvariablebitrate(VBR)wherethebitrateisallowed
toadapttochangesincomplexityinthescene.
HowtosavebandwidthandstorageusingZipstream
ThebitratecontrollerbuiltintotheproductcanbecombinedwithZipstreamtoensureamaximumbitrate(MBR)limit.We
recommendusingVBRorMBRwithahighbitratelimittoenablethefullpotentialofZipstream.
Forinstanceinrailwaysurveillancewhereattimesthereisalotofmovementinthesceneandwhereitisimportanttocapture
details,suchasfacialfeatures,theMBRshouldbesetto10Mbit/s(for1080presolutionat30fps).
