Starting to sew
Once you are ready to start sewing, you can start the
sewing machine. Sewing can be started and stopped
using the operation button (Start/stop button)
or the foot controller. For details on the foot
controller, refer to next page.
Memo
z When the foot controller is plugged
in, (Start/stop button) cannot be
used to start sewing.
■ Using the operation button
Sewing can be started and stopped using the
operation button (Start/stop button).

Slide the sewing speed controller to the left or
right to select the desired sewing speed.
Slide the sewing speed controller to the left to
sew at a slower speed, or slide the speed
controller to the right to sew at a faster speed.

Press (Start/stop button) once.

X The machine starts sewing.
Memo
z The machine will sew at a slow speed at the
beginning of sewing.
z If you press and hold the (Start/stop
button) while sewing, the machine will sew
at a slow speed. If you use this function at
the point just before the position where you
want to stop the machine, you can stop the
machine with more precision.
z When activating automatic thread cutting,
the machine will also activate the reverse/
reinforcement stitch function.

When the end of the stitching is reached, press
(Start/stop button) once.
X The machine stops sewing with the needle
in the position set in the setting screen.

Cut the threads.
• For details, refer to "Cutting the thread" (page
55).
Note
z This machine will automatically stop when
the bobbin becomes almost empty. When
the machine stops, replace the bobbin
thread, and then press (Start/stop
button) to begin sewing again.
