What to do if my Barnes SE Water Pump will not run?
    • N
      Nathan WilsonJul 27, 2025
If your Barnes Water Pump isn't running, first ensure all electrical connections are secure. Check for blown fuses or tripped breakers, and verify the power supply is correct. An electrician can measure the current in the motor leads. If the current is within ±20% of locked rotor Amps, the impeller is likely locked. If the current is 0, the overload may be tripped; in this case, remove power, allow the pump to cool, and then recheck the current. Also, make sure the liquid level is at least equal to the suggested turn-on point.

Why Barnes SE Water Pump will not turn off?
    • C
      Cynthia RichmondAug 1, 2025
If your Barnes Water Pump is running constantly, it could be due to several reasons. The float movement might be restricted, or the switch may be stuck in the "HAND" position. Also, the inflow could be excessive, or the pump may not be properly sized for the application. Additionally, the pump may be airlocked.

What to do if Barnes SE Water Pump shuts off and turns on by itself?
    • A
      Amanda JohnsonAug 5, 2025
If your Barnes Water Pump shuts off and turns on independently of the switch (trips thermal overload protector), possible causes include incorrect voltage, excessive inflow, the pump not being properly sized for the application, or the impeller being jammed, loose on the shaft, worn or damaged, or the impeller cavity or inlet plugged. Also, excessive water temperature could be the cause (internal protection only).

Why Barnes Water Pump operates noisily?
    • J
      jonesmichaelAug 14, 2025
If your Barnes Water Pump operates noisily or vibrates excessively, the causes could be worn bearings, a bent motor shaft, debris in the impeller cavity, a broken impeller, the pump running backwards, or piping attachments to the building structure being too rigid or too loose.

Why Barnes Water Pump cycles too frequently?
    • R
      Richard RodriguezAug 18, 2025
If your Barnes Water Pump cycles too frequently or runs periodically when fixtures are not in use, the check valve might be stuck closed or installed backwards, fixtures might be leaking, or ground water may be entering the basin.

Why Barnes SE delivers insufficient capacity?
    • S
      Stephanie VegaAug 22, 2025
If your Barnes Water Pump delivers insufficient capacity, possible causes include incorrect voltage, excessive inflow, the pump not being properly sized for the application, a restricted discharge, a check valve stuck closed or installed backwards, a closed shut-off valve, an impeller jammed or loose on the shaft, worn or damaged, the impeller cavity or inlet plugged, or the pump running backwards.
