3.2 Physical/Mechanical Inspection
Check for any of the following conditions:
Does the sensor have a dust cap?
Is there any visible corrosion?
Is the valve stem intact?
Does any other visible damage exist?
3.3 Sensor Activation
What the tool is checking during the TBYT function:
Proper LF activation and UHF decode based on MMY
Sensor is transmitting properly
Pressure and temperature
Battery status
Sensor mode
NOTE:
It is possible to have one or more non-functioning sensors
and have NO TPMS MIL lit; some systems can take over 100
miles and several days to report a fault.
