What to do if my Beckman Coulter rotor lid is hard to remove?
    • P
      Peter MorseAug 18, 2025
If you're having trouble removing the rotor lid, canister cover, or bucket cover from your Beckman Coulter equipment after centrifugation, it could be due to a vacuum buildup inside the container. Try lifting the vent plug on buckets or canister covers with vents to relieve the vacuum. Alternatively, the threads may be contaminated with dirt, dried lubricant, or metal particles, or they may be insufficiently lubricated. Routinely clean metal threads with a diluted solution of Solution 555 (10 parts water to 1 part detergent), and then lubricate them with Spinkote.

Why is my Beckman Coulter bottle leaking (bottles with cap assemblies)?
    • M
      Mary ButlerAug 20, 2025
Leakage in bottles with cap assemblies in Beckman Coulter equipment can occur due to: * Moisture or lubrication on the cap or sealing surface. Ensure the O-ring, plug, and bottle lip are dry and free of lubrication before use. * A damaged or defective O-ring or gasket. Replace the O-ring or gasket. * Insufficiently tightened cap. Tighten the cap securely. * An uneven sealing surface on the bottle. Replace the bottle. * Overfilled tube. If using threaded caps without inserts or O-rings, keep the meniscus lower to prevent leakage.

What to do if adapters stick in Beckman Coulter buckets?
    • T
      Timothy BurkeAug 23, 2025
To prevent adapters from sticking in buckets after centrifugation in your Beckman Coulter equipment, apply a thin film of powder, such as talcum powder, to the tube adapter rubber bases after cleaning or as required.

How to prevent Beckman Coulter tube leakage?
    • R
      robert53Aug 26, 2025
To prevent tube leakage in your Beckman Coulter equipment, ensure that caps are properly seated on tubes and fully tightened. Also, make sure all cap components are thoroughly dry before assembly.

What to do if Beckman Coulter Quick-Seal tubes are leaking?
    • L
      Laura MartinezAug 28, 2025
If Quick-Seal tubes are leaking in your Beckman Coulter equipment, it's likely due to improper sealing. After heat-sealing, gently squeeze the tube to test the seal for leaks. If the tube leaks, reseal it.

Why is my Beckman Coulter bottle leaking (uncapped bottles)?
    • R
      Rachel GrantAug 30, 2025
If an uncapped bottle is leaking in your Beckman Coulter equipment, it is likely because the bottle is too full. The meniscus must be kept lower to prevent leakage.

What to do if Beckman Coulter tubes with snap-on caps are leaking?
    • H
      Hector FernandezSep 1, 2025
If tubes with snap-on caps are leaking in your Beckman Coulter equipment, ensure the tube is not too full; the meniscus must be kept lower to prevent leakage.

    Bethany BriggsSep 6, 2025
Why are my Beckman Coulter tubes collapsing?
    • S
      Shannon BlankenshipSep 7, 2025
Tube collapse in Beckman Coulter equipment can occur due to several reasons: * Insufficient thinwall tube volume: The meniscus should be 2 to 3 mm below the tube top to provide adequate tube wall support. * Moisture: Ensure that tubes and tube cavities or buckets are dry before inserting the tubes, as moisture can cause the tube to float and collapse. * Reagent incompatibility: Refer to Chemical Resistances for chemical compatibilities of the tube material and chemicals used. * Excessive speed: Refer to the applicable rotor manual for maximum speeds to ensure tubes are not run above their rated speed.
  • E
    Elizabeth HicksSep 9, 2025
Why are my Beckman Coulter tubes cracking?
    • M
      Maria RogersSep 9, 2025
Cracking in Beckman Coulter tubes can be attributed to: * Low temperature: Tubes may crack or become brittle if used below their lower temperature limit. Before using tubes at other than stated temperature limits, evaluate them under centrifugation conditions. * Aging: Tubes may become brittle with age and use. Dispose of brittle or cracked tubes.

    Tina WalkerSep 14, 2025
What is the reason for leakage of uncapped tubes in Beckman Coulter equipment?
    • L
      Leslie HicksSep 14, 2025
If uncapped tubes are leaking in your Beckman Coulter equipment, it's likely because the tube volume exceeds the maximum uncapped volume.
