What to do if my Beckman Coulter rotor lid is hard to remove?

  If you're having trouble removing the rotor lid, canister cover, or bucket cover from your Beckman Coulter equipment after centrifugation, it could be due to a vacuum buildup inside the container. Try lifting the vent plug on buckets or canister covers with vents to relieve the vacuum. Alternatively, the threads may be contaminated with dirt, dried lubricant, or metal particles, or they may be insufficiently lubricated. Routinely clean metal threads with a diluted solution of Solution 555 (10 parts water to 1 part detergent), and then lubricate them with Spinkote.

  Leakage in bottles with cap assemblies in Beckman Coulter equipment can occur due to: * Moisture or lubrication on the cap or sealing surface. Ensure the O-ring, plug, and bottle lip are dry and free of lubrication before use. * A damaged or defective O-ring or gasket. Replace the O-ring or gasket. * Insufficiently tightened cap. Tighten the cap securely. * An uneven sealing surface on the bottle. Replace the bottle. * Overfilled tube. If using threaded caps without inserts or O-rings, keep the meniscus lower to prevent leakage.
