2.1.2 Safety emergency shutdown
As described in Part 1.1.2, HCV-3048 is a high power instrument and features an Emergency
Stop button. This button will This button will open the output of the power at the power
sockets.
WARNING
When HCV-3048 are used in parallel to increase the delivered current, it is possible to
simultaneously open the relay of the power output on all the boosters parallelized with only
one Emergency Stop by connecting the BNCs in the back of all four instruments.
The connection can be made by using BNC T-connector on the Open In of all boosters except
the main one on which the potentiostat is connected (See 5.1.3 for more information on
connections).
2.1.3 Ventilation requirement
As our instruments are delivering power, they produce heat which needs to be evacuated to
maintain the temperature inside of the instrument as constant as possible. Precautions must
be taken to avoid blocking the air flow. Blocking the air flow will increase the temperature of
the instrument, hence reducing the lifetime of the components as well as impairing its
capabilities. All the specifications and capabilities listed in this manual are guaranteed under
recommended operation, which means normal air flow
2.1.3.1 Potentiostats/galvanostats
In all our instruments (except the vertical VSP-300) the air flows from the bottom or the front
to the back of the instrument (Fig. 9).
For the vertical VSP-300 the air flows from the right to the left when facing the instrument
(Fig. 10).
