Safety Symbols
■ The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has established a set of
symbols for medical electronic equipment which classify a connection or warn of
any potential hazards. The classifications and symbols are shown below.
Save these instructions
Isolated patient connection. (IEC 601-1-Type BF)
Device part switched off.
Equipotential Stud: A ground wire from another device
can be tied here to ensure the devices share a common
reference.
External Signal IN/OUT Port
Protection against vertically falling water drops(IEC
60529) Water Protection Specification Level 1
Follow operating instructions (IEC 60878 Safety)
Consult accompanying documents
This symbol indicates that waste electrical and electronic
equipment must not be disposed of as unsorted
municipal waste and must be collected separately.
