What to do if my Blue Box SIGMA 2002 compressor is not running and the display is on with alarm “L1” and/or “L2”?
    • R
      Roy HayesAug 25, 2025
If compressor 1 and/or 2 are not working, and the display shows alarm “L1” and/or “L2”, it could be due to: * A completely empty refrigerant circuit. Check the refrigerant circuit with a leak detector after pressurizing to approximately 4 bar. Repair the leak, apply vacuum, and charge the circuit. * A faulty low-pressure switch. Check and replace if necessary. * A clogged metallic coil filter, resulting in low airflow (only LC/HP). Clean the filter with compressed air. * A clogged refrigerant filter. Check and replace if necessary. * A faulty water circulator pump. Check and replace if necessary.

What to do if my Blue Box SIGMA 2002 compressor is not running and the display is on with alarm “C1” and/or “C2”?
    • A
      Aaron ThompsonAug 27, 2025
If compressor 1 and/or 2 are not working and the display shows alarm “C1” and/or “C2”, it could be due to: * Insufficient refrigerant charge. Find the leak with a leak detector, repair it, and recharge the circuit. * A locked 4-way valve. Replace the valve. * Lack of oil. Check the quantity of oil in the circuit and replenish as necessary. Ensure the circuit has all necessary measures to ensure oil return to the compressor. * Condenser entering water temperature is too high. Check the temperature and flow of condenser entering water.

What does it mean if there is ice on the liquid refrigerant pipe of my Blue Box SIGMA 2002?
    • T
      Tina MiddletonAug 29, 2025
Ice forming on the liquid refrigerant pipe can be caused by: * A clogged liquid refrigerant filter. Replace the filter. * A valve on the liquid refrigerant line (if present) not being completely open. Fully open the valve.

What does it mean when my Blue Box SIGMA 2002 compressors run constantly?
    • G
      Gregory LivingstonAug 31, 2025
If the compressors run constantly, it could be due to: * An incorrectly set or faulty operating thermostat. Check the setting and replace the thermostat if necessary. * A lack of refrigerant gas charge. Check and recharge if necessary. * Excess thermal load. Reduce the thermal load.

What should I do if my Blue Box SIGMA 2002 is making anomalous noises?
    • E
      Erik Solomon MDSep 1, 2025
If you notice anomalous noises from the system: * If the compressor is noisy, contact a service organization for a check and replacement if necessary. * If the thermostatic valve is noisy, contact a service organization for a check and to replenish the refrigerant charge. * If pipes are vibrating, contact a service organization to secure the pipelines. * If casing panels vibrate, check that the panels are properly fastened; contact a service organization if necessary.

What causes insufficient capacity in my Blue Box SIGMA 2002 Chiller, even though the display is on without alarms?
    • L
      Luis CampbellNov 27, 2025
Insufficient capacity, with the display on but no alarms, can stem from: * Insufficient refrigerant charge: Check refrigerant circuits with a leak detector, repair any leaks, and recharge the circuit. * Presence of moisture in the refrigerant circuit: Replace the refrigerant filter and, if necessary, dehydrate and recharge the circuit. * One compressor failing to start, with the power circuit open and compressor contactor energized: Find and eliminate the cause of the protection intervention; change the fuses. If the fuses blow immediately, replace the compressor. * A compressor failing to start, with fuses OK but the compressor contactor de-energized: Check voltage across the compressor contactor coil and continuity of the coil; if necessary, replace the coil. * A 4-way reversi...

What to check if my Blue Box Chiller compressor isn't running and the display is off due to no power to control circuits?
    • D
      David PonceSep 15, 2025
If there is no power to the control circuits, check the condition of fuses FU50, FU51, and FU52. Also, check the operation of the transformer.

What does it mean if my Blue Box SIGMA 2002 compressor is not running and the display is On, with alarm "E3" or "E5"?
    • H
      hvegaSep 12, 2025
If the compressor is not running and the display shows alarm "E3" or "E5", it could indicate: * Faulty or disconnected resistance RK3 or RK4 (only version LC and LC/HP). Check the resistance and replace if necessary. * Interrupted connections to the pressure sensor (HP version only or if condensation pressure control with fan speed regulator is fitted with version LC and LC/HP). Restore the correct connections to the pressure sensor (“E3” refers to compressor 1, “E5” refers to compressor 2). * A faulty pressure sensor (only on HP version or if condensation pressure control with fan speed regulator is fitted with version LC and LC/HP). Replace the pressure sensor (“E3” refers to compressor 1, “E5” refers to compressor 2).

What does it mean if my Blue Box Chiller compressor is not running and the display is On with alarm "A1"?
    • M
      Misty ConleySep 8, 2025
If the compressor is not running and the display shows alarm "A1", it could be due to: * No consent of defrost thermostat due to insufficient water flow rate. Check the hydraulic circuit and wait until the water temperature exceeds the value necessary for the unit to restart. * No consent of defrost thermostat due to insufficient glycol concentration. The programmed set-point is too low for the percentage of glycol in the circuit. Increase the glycol percentage and reduce the defrost set-point.
