9 Settings (for Windows)
Use this app to configure your Windows device.
On the Apps screen, tap Settings. You can also add and tap a tile Settings on the Start screen. Tap and
enter your search term to search the settings menu.
9.1 Network and Wireless
9.1.1 Wi-Fi
On the Apps screen, tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
Switch Wi-Fi networking to On to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
• Tap the available network to connect to it. If required, enter the password.
• Tap and hold the connected network to edit, disconnect, or delete.
• Tap map nearby Wi-Fi to view the map that shows the nearby Wi-Fi networks.
• Tap Wi-Fi Sense to save the cellular data and automatically connect to a nearby Wi-Fi network.
– Connect to Wi-Fi hotspots: Switch this option to On to share your network with others.
– Share Wi-Fi networks I select: Switch this option to On to share the network you selected with others.
• Tap manage and select the checkbox for sending information about Wi-Fi connections to detect nearby
Wi-Fi networks.
9.1.2 Airplane Mode
On the Apps screen, tap Settings > airplane mode.
Switch Status to On to activate Airplane mode. All wireless and mobile services are disabled.
9.1.3 Bluetooth
On the Apps screen, tap Settings > Bluetooth.
Switch Status to On to turn on the Bluetooth feature and pair with other devices for information exchange.
• Tap the available device to pair with.
• Tap advanced and select the Use an alternate Bluetooth audio connection for Speech checkbox.
Select this checkbox only if the devices you want to pair have issues with voice recognition.
