BMW 530i 2021 - Functional Requirements

General information
BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is available
depending on the national-market version. The
use of the personal assistant is based on voice
operation. The voice operation is enhanced with
personal recommendations and messages as
well as the automation of routines.
The range of functions is extended with remote
software upgrades and adapts to the personal
settings.
Functional requirements
Enter the following settings to access the full
range of functions:
▷ The Driver profile is activated.
▷ Relevant ConnectedDrive Services pur‐
chased from the ConnectedDrive Store.
▷ Activation word is activated.
▷ "Online speech processing" is activated.
▷ "Synchronize driver profile" under
"Personalization" is activated.
▷ All settings under "BMW ConnectedDrive"
activated.

Extending the voice control
Concept
The Personal Assistant extends the range of
functions of the voice activation system and ena‐
bles natural voice control.
General information
Instructions can be issued or questions can be
asked. The Personal Assistant provides support,
for instance with the following topics:
▷ Calling up information on the vehicle condi‐
tion.
▷ Answering questions on vehicle functions.
▷ Navigating to the home address or favorite
restaurants.
▷ Using entertainment functions.
▷ Operating ambient light or windows.
▷ Activating climate control functions
Example for function
The Personal Assistant is activated as soon as
the microphone is shown.
The activation word and the command can be
spoken in one sentence.
1.
Say the wake word ›Hello BMW‹ or a personal
wake word.
2. ›Is my tire pressure still OK?‹
The personal assistant provides information
about the tire pressure.
Owner's Manual via voice operation
Concept
You can ask simple questions about vehicle
functions and the operation of the vehicle.
General information
The voice control system and the feedback it
provides are not a substitute for the printed or
Integrated Owner's Manual. The voice recogni‐
tion and quality of the feedback may vary.
The system supports questions that begin with
How or What.
Example for function
1.
Say the wake word ›Hello BMW‹ or a personal
wake word.
2. ›How can the passenger airbag be
deactivated‹
The voice activation system returns a feedback.
When stationary, the section of the integrated
Owner's Manual is displayed on the Control Dis‐
play.
