The following general warning sign is used in this document:
Warning notice design
Warning notices are a combination of signal words, warning signs and infor-
mation. They are structured as follows:
Signal word Meaning
DANGER Warns of a danger to persons that will imminently lead
to serious injury or death.
WARNING Warns of dangers to persons that could lead to serious
injury or death.
CAUTION Warns of dangers to persons that could lead to moderate
or minor injuries.
ATTENTION Warns of property damage.
Warning sign Meaning
Warns of a hazardous area.
SIGNAL WORD
Type of danger
Source of the danger and consequences if the warning notice is not ob-
served.
