4.19 Changing the fuel filter
!
Danger
When working on the fuel system do not use
open fire, do not smoke, fire hazard! Do not
spill any fuel, do not inhale any fuel fumes.
!
Caution
The change interval of the fuel filter depends
on the cleanliness of the fuel. If necessary the
maintenance must be performed every six
months.

l Open the filler cap on the tank (Fig. 57) .

l Place a suitable container under the filter to
catch running out fuel (Fig. 58) .
l Close the fuel supply line.

l Pull the fuel lines off both sides of the fuel filter
and install a new filter (Fig. 59) .
Environment
Dispose of the used filter environmentally.
!
Caution
Ensure strict cleanliness, so that no dirt can
fall into the fuel hose.
l The fuel filter must be generally renewed.
l Mind the flow direction - arrows.
l Open the fuel supply, if necessary prime with
the fuel pump.
l Close the filler cap on the tank again.
l Check fuel filter and lines for leaks after a short
test run.

The fuel system is automatically bled.
