2015.10 | V2 | DOC Installation manual Bosch Sicherheitssysteme GmbH
E2700 controllers share two drive-side SAS domains. The dual expansion ports allow external
bandwidth capability, as each port contains four PHYs on each E2700 controller.
When there is only one drive tray, connect both controller ports to the same ESM in a single
stack to maximize performance.
When there is more than one drive tray, connect one port on controller A to the left ESM of
the first drive tray in the stack and one port on controller B to the right ESM of the last drive
tray in a dual stack to maximize performance. Dual stack cabling requires that both expansion
ports on the controllers are used for drive-side cabling in order to create two stacks.
