Warning! Burns due to deflagration during bronchial use when ventilated with
highly concentrated oxygen (100%). See study on HF surgery by the BfArM 2009.
The heat generated during activation can impair the function of the
endoscope lens or destroy it. For this reason, do not activate in the direct
vicinity of the lens.
Do not use for working on metallic implants, e.g. stents, clips, etc.
3.3 EMC instructions
Medical electrical devices are subject to special EMC precautions, so please
follow the instructions detailed below.
BOWA accessories are designed to be connected to specific HF devices
only. For permissible connection combinations, see chapter “Technical
specifications”, page 24.
Using the accessories with medical devices from third-party
manufacturers may result in higher emission levels or reduced
interference immunity.
Note:
Combining medical devices is safe only if
the relevant instructions for use permit the desired combination or
the intended use and the interface specification of the products used in
the combination are compatible.
The Instructions for use and interface specifications of medical devices used in
combination must be strictly observed.
4 Description
4.1 Use
4.1.1 Connecting the flexible argon probes
At the beginning it must be ensured that the RF generator and the argon
control unit are operational. The gas cylinder valve is opened and the gas
supply be sufficient.
1. Connecting cable and flexible argon probe taken sterile from the container.
2. Visually inspect the instrument for damage to the insulation and the distal end
of flexible probes. Do not use defective instruments! BOWA is warning to repair
damaged areas. The instrument is operated with high coagulation voltages!
Any brown discoloration at the distal end of the probe are production affective
and do not represent contamination or adulteration of the product.
3. Connect a 3-pin connector to the HF-surgery device. Generators with Plug'n
Cut COMFORT recognize BOWA COMFORT instruments and
automatically select the most appropriate parameters.
4. Insert desired flexible argon probe with the plug in the coupling of the
connecting cable. Make sure that the plug is inserted into the coupling until it
stops; a small gap (about 1mm) between the connector and adapter
remains.
