:
1. Rinse the lumen at least 3 times with approx. 50 ml (disposable syringe)
of cleaning fluid.
- Recommended operating supplies for manual pre-cleaning, see page 23
2. Rinse under running water
3. Remove surface contamination with a soft plastic brush.
4. Rinse with sterile, deionised water.
5. Rinse the lumen at least 3 times with approx. 50 ml of sterile, deionised
water (disposable syringe).
5.2 Automatic cleaning and desinfection
For cleaning / disinfection of instruments, a mechanical procedure (disinfector)
should be used. A manual method is not recommended due to the significantly
reduced efficiency (use of ultrasound is not allowed!).
When selecting the disinfector, make sure
• that the disinfector a proven effectiveness has (eg DGHM or FDA
approval or CE designation according to DIN EN ISO 15883)
• that whenever possible a certified program for thermal disinfection
(min. 5 min. at 90 ° C or A0-value> 3000) is used (for chemical
disinfection risk of Disinfectants residues on the instruments),
• that the program used for the instruments is suitable and contains
sufficient rinse cycles,
• that only sterile or low-germ (max. 10 bacteria / ml) and low-endotoxin (max.
0.25 ml endotoxin units /) water is used,
• that the air used for drying is filtered and
• that the disinfector is regularly maintained and checked.
When choosing the disinfection system to be used, it must be ensured,
• that this is basically suitable for the cleaning of the products
• that where no thermal disinfection is used - a suitable disinfectant with
proven efficacy (eg DGHM or FDA approval or CE marking) is additionally
used and that this is compatible with the cleaning agent used and
• that the chemicals used are compatible with the products
It is essential that the concentrations and reaction times specified by the
manufacturer of the cleaning and if applicable disinfection media be
maintained.
Validation with soaking for 5 minutes in 3% Gigasept Instru AF (Schülke &
Mayr, Norderstedt), rinse lumen at least 3 times with 50 ml disposable syringe,
rinse under running water, brush, rinse with sterile, deionised water, rinse
lumen at least 3 times with 50 ml disposable syringe.
