Operating Instructions
Machine Start-up
To start the machine, the operator must:
1. Stand on the operator’s platform (Item 1, Figure 3–11).

2. Move the throttle lever (Item 1, Figure 3–12) to about half way between fast and idle
engine speeds.
3. Rotate the ignition key counterclockwise to the PREHEAT position (Item 3, Figure 3–12)
to allow the glo-plugs to warm the engine cylinders for approximately 10 seconds.
The Low Engine Oil light and the warning sounder will turn on during this process. This
is a normal condition and will verify that this warning system is functioning properly. If
either the light or the warning sounder do not turn on, see Section 4 – Routine Service and
Maintenance.
