6.2.33 PISTON AND CONNECTING ROD

Loosen the bolts that hold small end of connecting
rod.
Disassemble cap of the small end of connecting rod.
Push the piston and connecting rod away from
the crankshaft with the handle of a hammer.
Disassemble the piston and connecting rod.
Disassemble the bearing of pin from the connecting
rod.
Take note of assembling position since in case of
re-use they shall be tted in the same position.
Do not use the bearings.

Loosen the bolts that hold main bearing cap.
Disassemble the crank shaft.

MAIN PARTS INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE
6.3.1 CYLINDER HEAD
Disassemble the valve cotter, spring, retainer by
the valve spring with disassembly tools.
Disassemble the intake valve and exhaust valve.
Keep those disassembled parts by matching
cylinders.

DISASSEMBLY
CHECK THE CYLINDER HEAD
Before cleaning the cylinder head, check that
whether or not gas leak, damage, crack of water,
gas, etc.
Check the cracking in head combustion surface
by color check.
2. Check the invisible crack or damage by water
pressure testing or magnetic particle testing.
3. Check the plane degree of the cylinder head’s
bottom if there is any gas leak from gasket.
Replace the cylinder head if the check result is
out oimit.

LIMIT More than 0.15 mm
