If the Touchscreen displays:
 Unable to Clean XX
 Unable to Initialize XX
 Unable to Print XX
 Unable to Scan XX
We recommend transferring your faxes to 
another fax machine or to your PC.

Transfer the Fax Journal report to see if there 
are any faxes you must transfer.

If you have not set up your Station ID, you 
cannot enter fax transfer mode. 
(See How to set your Station ID on page 29.)
a Press   to temporarily interrupt the 
error.
b Press (Settings).
c Press All Settings.
d Swipe up or down or press a or b to 
display Service.
e Press Service.
f Press Data Transfer.
g Press Fax Transfer.
h Do one of the following:
 If the Touchscreen displays 
No Data, there are no faxes in the 
machine’s memory.
Press Close, and then press  .
 Enter the fax number where faxes 
will be forwarded. 
i Press Fax Start.

Transfer faxes from your machine’s memory 
to your PC. 
a Press   to temporarily interrupt the 
error.
b Make sure you have installed 
MFL-Pro Suite on your PC, and then 
turn on PC-FAX Receive on the PC.
Do one of the following:

From (Start), select All Programs, 
Brother, Brother Utilities, MFC-XXXX, 
PC-FAX Receive, and select Receive. 
(Where XXXX is your model name.)

Click (Brother Utilities), and then 
click the drop-down list and select your 
model name (if not already selected). 
Click PC-FAX Receive in the left 
navigation bar, and then click Receive.
