2 Introduction
Because different applications lead to differing levels of contamination, the manual and the
source heating cleaning intervals can vary depending on the applications performed on the
instrument.
Note The source heating cleaning interval can be set under flexService > Laser
and Trigger. This interval must be set by qualified service personnel.
2.1 LC-MALDI
Source heating interval
l Cleaningthreshold = 5 million shots (default) as shown in Figure 2-1.
Manual cleaning interval
l Weekly — Flushing
l Monthly — Clean the optical components using a swab (see section 4.1). Use a
brush to clean the potential plates (see section 4.2)
2.2 Imaging
Source heating interval
l Cleaningthreshold =1 million shots as shown in Figure 2-2.
Manual cleaning interval
l After 10 million shots and after a large image — Clean the laser optics using a swab
(see section 4.1). Use a brush to clean the potential plates (see section 4.2)
