1 Safety Instructions
1.1 General Hazards
The following safety instructions serve to protect the life, body, and health of third parties
and to prevent damage to the instrument components. These safety instructions must be
taken into consideration to avoid hazards that can result from inappropriate equipment
maintenance. Bruker accepts no responsibility for damage resulting directly or indirectly
from inappropriate maintenance work.
1.2 Instrument Liability (Maintenance)
On the customer's premises, it is the obligation of the person nominated as being
responsible for equipment maintenance (the responsible person), to ensure that
equipment maintenance is only undertaken in line with the entirety of the safety
instructions. In addition, the responsible person must ensure that the Maintenance
Instructions to be used by the person entrusted with equipment maintenance are available
in a complete and legible form before and during the maintenance process.
1.3 Qualified Expert Personnel
To ensure safe working and the avoidance of hazards to the customer, all maintenance
work must be conducted by a Bruker Service representative or by a suitably qualified
specialist who has carefully read and fully understood the Maintenance Instructions before
undertaking the work.
1.4 Appropriate Maintenance
A maintenance schedule can only be appropriately undertaken if it strictly follows an
approach that takes all safety considerations described in the Maintenance Instructions
into account. Ignoring safety considerations or deviating from the written procedure is
considered inappropriate maintenance work, for which Bruker accepts no
responsibility(see section 1.1).
