l Always soak cleaning materials in ethanol before starting cleaning. Do not clean
parts with dry tissues, swabs, or brushes.
4.1 Cleaning Optical Components
Over time, optical components will become contaminated. Contamination causes a
reduction in laser energy arriving at the target, meaning that the laser energy must be
increased using the software setting.
The laser mirror on the mirror plate is the component that becomes contaminated most
quickly (see Figure 4-1). Only use swabs to clean the optical surfaces of the mirror and
lens surfaces (see Figure 4-4).
