3 Switching Off and Opening the Instrument Bruker Daltonik GmbH
l Lift up the top cover by pressing the "Up" button on the rear panel.

After approximately 30 seconds the top cover will be lifted to its highest position.
Note Before lifting the top cover, make sure that it is clear of overhanging items
that might impede the lifting procedure. Make sure that there are no objects
lying on the top cover before raising it. Any additional weight can damage
the top cover lifting jack.
Note The top cover lifting jack has an overtemperature safety switch. If overused
(frequent up and down movement) the thermostatic cut-out will prevent it
from working until it cools down.
l Switch off the instrument using the Mains switch as soon as the top cover has
reached its highest position.

l Disconnect the Mains cable
Now the entire instrument is disconnected from the main electrical supply and it is
safe to perform maintenance work.
WARNING — DANGEROFELECTRICSHOCK
There is risk of electrical shock if the mains cable is not disconnected
from the instrument.
